I post quite regularly – towards the end of the month. I suspect it has something with the moon phase (or some other phase)? Well indeed I tend to have more creative energy . Or maybe it is the press and the details of the end of the month (and hence that I’m most productive under pressure). Who knows.
Greetings from the darkness, anyways! But despite it being November, aka the dullest month of the year, there is a lot of colours and life out there. Juxtaposed against grayness of rotting leaves, bare ground and misty dim, the colour is out there and it indeed is pretty.
And those shades of yellow and orange are here to distract us from the rest of the world going gray, dark and scratchy in the throat (that is the real reason, not just the green chlorophyll in leaves diminishing and the yellow pigment becoming dominant). I thought I would overplay this – and play around with this Yodica Vega special effects film a bit. After all, soon we will be looking hard to find any colours again out there, so why not overpower.
I quite like how they look turned out though, especially the portraits. Yes, you guessed it, the main motive of all my shootings remains quite clear. The child. But hey, the hue changes as the aperture/amount of light does, so the result is pretty exciting each time.
So here we have the child, some brutalist architecture, rime, grass, water and random twigs. Experimenting around home at its best.
As I said, I did not quite feel myself on May 1st, for obvious reasons I was fearing the day when everyone puts a hat on, meets friends, drinks a plenty, eats picnic and has to be jolly.
Watching these freaks jump into ice-cold water did cheer me up a bit. But the drunk wife who blocked my views did not.
The day before the official frolics we went to a contemporary music concert. Yes. That kind of squeaky music when you are waiting for one of the clarinetist to whack their instrument on the head of the pianist who is busy playing the piano using a microwave. I will post a report on this sooner – in Czech, ha, as a part of my blog new section 😉 very shortly: the concert was not all that bad! I actually liked it – am I really THAT old? – despite that literally all the pieces sounded like student film/psycho horror/experimental film soundtrack…
… the concert took place in Suomenlinna again – and I really liked these seagulls.
Oh and we have had some sun recently. I’ve been exploring Taka-Töölö (Rear-Töölö) and focused on happy colours this time…
… an on eating ice-cream on the cliff with some new friends. Being depressed does not mean that I don’t experience anything pleasant – but let’s not get into it now, let’s hope for the better and for the best and for… for… for better quality linopaint. I’ve had some big fails recently (today),
Yes, we’re off to Lapland (but don’t worry potential burglars, our flat is well protected). Wish I was in better mood – or is it the stress? Travelling fever? Feeling unfit and inappropriate? Misplaced? Idle? All of those? Hard to tell – and the fact that my cognitive functions have been impaired by migraine meds does not help.
And because we are off to the north I will obviously delight you with pictures of the south, namely of Turku. When I was there last week the weather and the atmosphere was springy, crispy, energetic. Now the weather is nowhere around as joyful, but soon I will be back where my heart loves it so much: beyond the polar circle. Yay!
