As a researcher, I noticed that identifying and analyzing problems does no longer satisfy me. I knew I could utilize my academic skills and experience towards the common good and eventually make lives better, but I was lacking the clear connection to the process of creating solutions to the identified problems. I found the common channels used for transmission academic knowledge to general and professional public to be intransparent, unreliable and inaccessible and was looking for new approaches for utilizing and popularizing research and for creating solutions to societal and political problems.
And then one day (one social evening) I discovered Service Design and my imagined career path has suddenly took a new direction. I felt like I could actually make a career from what I love. I can focus at a problem/project at a time and create usable grass-root solutions. I started educating myself and practicing what I have learned combined with my passion for inclusion and diversity.
And now I can create proper functional DEI tools and strategies, and hopefully make everyone feel as included in the process as they deserve and wish. My portfolio so far mainly consists of student projects, which I will shortly present below.
